Joe has been in the Castle Rock and Douglas County area since 1969 and he shared with our listeners about how he and his buddies used to drive down County Line Road in Littleton, CO back when it was a dirt road. We had a great time talking about Time Magazine’s 50 Worst Cars ever, one of which is a vehicle that Joe owned back in the 70’s when he was in the Navy, the infamous AMC Gremlin. 
I had to add another category to CoolCarGuy.com for the AMC after having Joe on the show.
We didn’t talk too much about the real estate market and his business, but we did talk briefly about how much Joe and his wife Jolene love their Honda Pilot. As if that’s a surprise, considering all of the other guests I’ve had on The Cool Car Guy Show who also lover their Pilot’s. Joe also commissioned me to find his daughter a low priced Subaru to drive, so I’ll be getting on that task next month for them.

Brent talked about how he is driving a Toyota Prius and how much he loves his new vehicle, along with all the money on fuel he is saving. The Toyota Prius is without a doubt the most popular fuel efficient hybrid in the marketplace today. For some time, the average time that a Prius was on the lot of a dealership was just 10 days and Brent can attest to why they have been so popular. 
We also talked about Brent’s personal life and how he’s in a band called MoTrucker Rocks.

On The Cool Car Guy Show yesterday on CastleRockRadio.com I had my friend and client Adam Makkai, of Mutual Service Corporation.
Adam is very conservative when it comes to cars and he gets more mileage out of a vehicle than anyone I know. His Honda Accord that he traded in with me had 200,000 miles on it and his Toyota Solara that he replaced it with already has almost 100,000 miles. Of course, for Adam that’s just getting broken in. 
We also talked about automotive news and the state of the economy. Adam explained how many people make the mistake of having car payments that don’t fit their budget, along with not paying off debt before adding credit cards and other expenses. Adam consults with people on how to invest in their future and how by leveraging real assets someone can use their appreciating assets to fund nice things like cool cars without giving up their lifestyle or the assets themselves. He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to maximizing a return on investment and how to get the most bang for the buck when it comes to vehicles.

On The Cool Car Guy Show last Thursday on CastleRockRadio.com I had my friend Jason Warrick, who is a big Rally Car and Motocross fan as a special guest on the show.
Jason is a real gear head and has a ministry to the Motocross world of Colorado as a motorcycle rider. He shared with us on the show about how he was first exposed to Rally Car Racing in Europe and witnessed a few events in Ireland and Belgium, which I knew about Ireland being big for Rally, but was surprised to hear about Belgium as well. 
We also talked about how Subaru has changed the body style of the WRX and WRX STI, how Ford has been active in Rally racing, along with Mitsubishi and how the events in Europe require a 2.0 liter engine to participate. In the United States, the 2.5 liter engine can still qualify. We also talked about the late Colin McRae and how Jason had seen him race on several occasions. I also discovered that one of my posts on CoolCarGuy.com needed to be updated with a video from YouTube of Colin’s performance in the 2006 X-Games where he rolled his Subaru and still nearly won the race.

On The Cool Car Guy Show this Wednesday on CastleRockRadio.com I had Ms. Kristen Leduc from McDermott & Bull as a special guest on the show.
Kristen has been an Executive Recruiter for 10 years and she shared with us why she likes to lease vehicles instead of owning them and why she’s driving a new 2008 Infiniti G35x as her “near” luxury vehicle of choice. We both got a kick out of that description for this awesome Infiniti that was described at MSN Autos, but they also stumped The Cool Car Guy with her vehicle. I thought that the 2008 Infiniti had a 48 month / 50,000 mile basic warranty, but it now comes with a 48 month / 60,000 mile basic warranty according to MSN Autos. Kristen told us that she loves her new vehicle. Of course, what’s not to like? 
Kristen was great to have on the show and we hope to have her back on the show again sometime. We had a good time, so if you missed this show, you missed a great one. We talked about GM offering 74,000 employees an incentive to leave and how Toyota Executives are more optimistic about 2008 for automobile sales than some of the other experts in the automotive industry.
Time will tell who’s right or wrong, but in the meantime, Kristen will continue placing top executives in companies around the country that are having a better year than General Motors is having so far.

Joslin and her husband Lawrence have been clients of mine for several years and we talked about their Honda Pilot and Chrysler Pacifica and how much she likes both of their vehicles. Just like John Sanders who was on the week before, Joslin couldn’t say enough good things about her Honda Pilot. We also talked about automotive news and how Allstate has a new green automotive policy that is designed to create much less paperwork while helping the planet. Joslin explained the benefits of getting a periodic insurance checkup and some of the services she has to offer people looking for better insurance solutions. She gave me several “Drive It Right” DVD’s that is a 20 minute educational program designed to talk to teens about safe driving. We discovered that nearly 6,000 teens are killed every year in car crashes and the importance of keeping kids safe behind the wheel.

On The Cool Car Guy Show last Thursday CastleRockRadio.com I had Mr. John Sanders from Sanders Enterprises Information Technology Management Consulting as a special guest on the show.
John shared with our listeners some of the vehicles he has owned over the years, he also talked about his current vehicles. John gave us his opinion on the Honda Pilot that he drives compared to the Toyota Sequoia that his wife drives and he said that he things the Pilot is a much better value for the money. He claims that he gets 28 mpg in the Pilot and nowhere near that in the Sequoia. 
The Toyota is much more money, but not as much value.
John also talked about how he worked with a number of automobile manufacturers over the years and gave us some of the inside scoop of his take on the automobile industry. We will have to see if we can get John back on the show again down the road to talk more about the automotive industry. It was a great show and if you’re thinking Honda or Toyota, according to John, it’s Honda all the way.
