WHAT I LIKE ABOUT DRIVING MY 2015 BMW M235i xDrive
320 HORSEPOWER, ALL-WHEEL DRIVE, AND STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE DAILY DRIVERS!
This is my personal ride here in New Mexico — a red 2015 BMW M235i xDrive Coupe with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six.
And I really like this car!
I love the all-wheel-drive system for snowy trips across Raton Pass into Colorado, and it’s just as entertaining on dry pavement.
It gives me the combination I want in a daily driver:
- Sporty performance.
- Responsive handling.
- Comfortable leather interior.
- Year-round practicality.
- Surprisingly good highway fuel economy for a turbocharged six-cylinder.
I’ve owned more than 60 vehicles over the years, and eventually I’ll probably trade this one for something newer — or simply something different.
But I’m not in any hurry.
And here’s something else. This BMW is ALWAYS for sale if the right offer comes along!

⭐ WHAT I LIKE ABOUT MY BMW M235i xDRIVE
My 2015 BMW is equipped with:
- Turbocharged 3.0-liter N55 inline-six engine.
- 320 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque.
- BMW xDrive all-wheel drive.
- Eight-speed sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
- Black leather interior.
- Heated front seats.
- Power driver and passenger seats.
- Navigation.
- SiriusXM.
- Sunroof.
It’s a terrific combination of performance, comfort, and practicality.
Put the car in Sport mode, and there’s plenty of acceleration when you want it.
Take it on a long highway trip, and it’s comfortable enough that you don’t feel like you’ve spent the day driving a race car.
That’s something I appreciate.
I’m not racing my BMW every Saturday.
I’m driving it!
I maintain it with full-synthetic oil changes approximately every 5,000 miles, routine service, and repairs when something needs attention.
I like keeping my vehicles properly maintained because I enjoy driving them, and I want them to be in good shape when the time comes to sell or trade.
A car doesn’t have to be brand-new to be a whole lot of fun!
⭐ THE SWEET SPOT BMW GOT RIGHT
Here’s something interesting about this particular BMW.
My 2015 M235i xDrive uses BMW’s 3.0-liter N55 turbocharged inline-six engine.
The later M235i xDrive Gran Coupe uses a smaller 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and is an entirely different kind of BMW.
If you want the newer six-cylinder successor to my coupe, you’re looking at the M240i, with BMW’s B58 engine.
And depending on the year, mileage, and condition, that can mean spending considerably more money.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with the newer BMW models.
But here’s what my 2015 gives me:
320 horsepower.
All-wheel-drive traction.
A responsive eight-speed automatic.
Good highway mileage.
Real-world comfort.
Plenty of performance.
And no new-car payment!
That’s why I’m not particularly anxious to trade it.
BMW got a lot right with this generation.
⭐ THE ONE TRADE THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY TEMPT ME!
Now here’s something funny.
As much as I like my BMW xDrive, there’s one particular version that could tempt me to make a trade.
A rear-wheel-drive BMW M235i with a six-speed manual transmission!
And that’s an important distinction.
The 2015 M235i xDrive coupe came with BMW’s eight-speed sport automatic transmission.
If you want the six-speed manual M235i, you need to look for a rear-wheel-drive version.
I understand why driving enthusiasts love them.
There’s just something about shifting your own gears in a 320-horsepower BMW coupe!
Of course, the eight-speed automatic in my xDrive is an excellent transmission.
It’s quick.
It’s responsive.
The paddle shifters are fun.
And it’s considerably more convenient when you’re stuck in traffic.
So yes, the right six-speed manual might tempt me.
But I’m not exactly suffering while I wait! LOL!

That doesn’t mean I’m desperate to sell my car.
It means I’m willing to listen when opportunity knocks.

When you wait until you absolutely HAVE to sell something, you can end up negotiating from a position of weakness.

What if someone discovers your vehicle, likes what they see, and makes you an attractive offer while you’re still enjoying it?
You might sell it.
You might trade it.
Or you might decide to keep it.
The point is that YOU get to make that decision.
That’s exactly why I created this Parking Spot for my personal BMW.
